Louise Alice Smith, 99, of Dallas died Feb. 14 in Dallas.
She was born in Festina, Iowa, to Hiram Wesley and Elizabeth M. Myer Wharff.
She graduated from school in Stanton, Iowa, in 1928, then moved to Omaha, Neb. She took a job at Woolworth's, where she worked for six years.
She married John A. Smith on June 15, 1931, in Omaha. They later built a home and poultry ranch and moved in 1971 to Oregon.
She is survived by her sister, Faye Parker of Mountain View, Ark.
Rosary and Mass of Christian burial was Feb. 18 at St. Michael's Church in Grand Ronde. Vault interment followed at Green Crest Memorial Park in Sheridan.

Juanita M. Fern, 68, of Conway, Ark., formerly of Dallas, died Feb. 21 in Conway following a brief illness.
She was born to Josephine and Fred Fern at Dr. I.D. Bartell's Hospital on Court Street in Dallas.
Juanita went to school in Bridgeport. Her grandfather, Henry Fern, was an early 1900s settler of Polk County.
After living in Dallas, Juanita moved to Cheyenne, Wyo., before moving to Conway in 2008.
Juanita enjoyed playing shuffleboard, bingo, pool, stamping and computer games. She was a great admirer of Elvis Presley and was a lover of pets, especially cats and dogs.
Survivors include a daughter; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Jan. 14, 1916 - Feb. 18, 2010
Charles Lincoln Dirlam, 94, of Dallas, formerly of Eugene, died on Feb. 18 in Dallas.
He was born to Philip and Hattie Dirlam in Panora, Iowa.
His family moved to Redwood Falls, Minn., in 1919. After high school, Charles attended Dunwoody Institute prior to moving to Eugene in 1936 to work for Hope Refrigeration. In 1946 he started his own business, Dirlam Refrigeration Co., which later became Dirlam Electric Co.
Charles married Lois Sorensen on Jan. 13, 1938. They were married for 67 years.
Charles and Lois were active members of Central Lutheran Church and Charles was a current member of Bethesda Lutheran Church.
Charles enjoyed rock hounding, gardening, and anything to do with wind and solar energy. He was innovative, inventive, and always eager to learn new things.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; sister, Bertha Alexander; and brothers, Howard, Aubrey and Maurice Dirlam.
Survivors include his daughters, Deanna (Claude) Canfield of Meridian, Idaho, and Terri (Jerry) Reeher of Dallas; sons, John (Patricia) Dirlam of Belfast, Maine, and Ron (Peggy) Dirlam of Denver; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Family memorial service will be held later this spring.

John David Woodmansee, 65, of Dallas died Feb. 2 in Salem.
He was born to John and Ordel Woodmansee in Oakland, Calif.
His working career was as a plumber.
Brigitte Christa Woodmansee, 69, of Dallas died Feb. 3 in Salem.
She was born to Johannes and Hedwig Magel in Germany.
She had been a supervisor in a candy factory.
John is survived by daughters, Lisa Lampela (Daniel Buckley) and Brenda Lampela (Ty Berthold); and seven grandchildren.
Brigitte is survived by a brother and a niece, both of Germany; stepdaughters, Lisa Lampela (Daniel Buckley) and Brenda Lampela (Ty Berthold); and seven grandchildren;
Celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
Neptune Cremation Service in Portland handled arrangements.

Julie K. Tamayo, 47, of Dallas, died Feb. 21 in Dallas.
She was born in Dallas. Julie attended Dallas schools and was a lifelong resident of the area. She had developed many friendships with people from the community.
Julie was an energetic person who loved cooking and spending time outdoors. She was full of life and was loved by all who knew her. Julie adored her family and loved every second she was able to spend with her children and grandchildren.
She was an active member of Valley Life Center and was a woman of faith who loved her Savior.
The memories her family will cherish is her commitment to her family and her love and dedication to her children and grandchildren.
Julie is survived by her son, Steven (Carie) Miller of Dallas; daughter, Kerri (Pedo) Neuenschwander of Dallas; parents, Francis Simons and Richard (Bernie) Dunaway, all of Dallas; brother, Rob Dunaway of Dallas; three grandsons; and numerous extended family and many close friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later time.
