County road surfacing projects under way

POLK COUNTY -- Due to scheduling issues, several road overlay projects that were scheduled to begin last week have been delayed and rescheduled.

POLK COUNTY -- Due to scheduling issues, several road overlay projects that were scheduled to begin last week have been delayed and rescheduled.

Polk County Public Works will now be doing road overlay work beginning today (Wednesday, Sept. 1).

The road closure and delay schedule is:

* Wigrich Road (southeast of Independence near Buena Vista) -- road closed Wednesday, Sept. 1.

* Wells Landing Road (southeast of Independence near Buena Vista) -- road closed Thursday and Friday, Sept. 2-3.
