Academic Honors

Emily Crossman, a home-schooled student from Dallas, has been awarded a Chancellor's Scholarship of $6,000 and a Herb Anderson Achievement Scholarship of $500 to Corban College in Salem. The scholarships are for the 2008-09 academic year.

   Ginger E. McDowell of Pedee was listed on the 2008 winter term dean's list at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande. McDowell, a 2007 graduate of Dallas High School, earned a 3.84 grade point average. To qualify, students must achieve and maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale while completing a minimum of 12 hours of graded course work.

   Two Polk County students are among those who received associate's degrees May 4 from Hesston College, a two-year liberal arts school located in south central Kansas. Molly Brieann Baker of Independence received her associate of applied arts and science in general studies, and Suzanne Renee Quiring of Rickreall received her associate of applied arts and sciences in nursing.
