Perrydale sophomore Ellie Still (lower front) has the title role in the school’s production of “Alice in Wonderland.” The cast includes 35 performers.

PERRYDALE - Though it has always seemed like such a magical and far off place, on May 14 and 15 Wonderland will be much closer than you may think.
In a production including 35 performers and props from the middle and high school art classes, Perrydale School will be staging the classic "Alice in Wonderland." Both performances are free and open to the public. The school is located at 7445 Perrydale Road.
Prior to the public opening, the performers will also do a private showing for local seniors during the May 8 Perrydale Spring Fling, as well as separate performances for students from Sheridan, Amityville and Cook elementary schools.
"It's neat to me that so many people are involved, not just the people on the stage but people from across the school," said Misty Matthews, the director of this performance and the 13-year choral music and drama teacher at Perrydale. "I wanted to go with a play I could use a lot of people in and help to build up the program."
Featuring sophomore Ellie Still as the full-sized Alice and fifth-grader Emily Johnson as her shorter counterpart, the play includes several musical pieces and well thought out, choreographed routines.
The two performances will be held at 7 p.m. next Wednesday and Thursday at Perrydale School where, after falling into a deep dark hole, "finally, Alice landed in front of a little door" in Perrydale.
