7/23 Pedee News: Nola Womer

Judy Guida, Arlene Kovash and their friend Donna Wernz from Philomath drove July 9 to Camp Sherman, where they stayed at a friend's cabin to quilt, scrapbook, read, hike, and attend the Sisters Quilt Show on July 12.
Arlene's daughter, Lorraine Odell, and her family stayed the first part of the week, so the three got to the cabin on time to eat dinner with them.
Trouble was, when the Odell's left to go home to Salem, they accidentally took Arlene's suitcase back with them, so she had no clothes. A quick trip into Sisters remedied that, but she did find out how lightly a person can travel.

There were about 40 people who attended the "Church in the Park" services on July 13 at Pedee Memorial Evangelical Church. Following the longer-than-usual song service, Pastor Lonnie Burbank gave a shorter Bible message.
The potluck dinner was served and enjoyed.
The park is between the church parsonage at the south end of the property and the Ritner Creek Covered Bridge and park, on the bank of the Luckiamute River on Kings Valley Highway.
My 93rd birthday on July 14 was noted at the service. I thank all for the cards, letters, visits and other birthday greetings and surprises.
